Assessment of Water Flow Glazing as Building-Integrated Solar Thermal Collector

In buildings with ambitious energy goals or limited roof areas for on-site generation, building-integrated solar thermal collectors are one of the main strategies to provide renewable built environment. addition, designing large glazing facades is a challenge achieving goal zero-energy due load produced by standard double triple glazing. This research shows that Water Flow Glazing (WFG) can produce domestic hot water as collector flowing through chamber between glass panes and help reduce loads facades. this article, collector’s efficiency was defined according UNE-EN 12975-2 then applied Glazing. As result, transparent Glazing’s optical η0 varies from 0.648 0.742, whereas loss coefficient a1 ranges 9.51 4.16. Those values like those commercial plate collectors. Afterward, model predict WFG tested in an existing facility calculating Normalized Root Mean Square Error (NRMSE) assess deviations simulation measured values. Using improve integration energies roofs but also increase uncertainties affect their efficiencies, such internal heat heating, cooling, ventilation systems. Therefore, testing facilities understand impact these technologies Zero Energy Building paradigm.
